2014 Season

If 2013 belonged to Peyton Manning, 2014 belonged to the arrival of a new generation.

Andrew Luck became a fantasy monster, finishing as the highest-scoring player in our league at 367.74 points. DeMarco Murray ran for 1,845 yards. Antonio Brown was becoming nearly unstoppable. Jordy Nelson and Demaryius Thomas were exploding. And a rookie receiver named Odell Beckham Jr. arrived and immediately produced one of the most famous catches in NFL history against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

Meanwhile, the NFL's changing balance of power was on full display.

Seattle returned to the Super Bowl after another dominant defensive season, seemingly on the verge of establishing a dynasty. Instead, the Seahawks' championship defense ended with Malcolm Butler's goal-line interception and one of the most controversial play calls in Super Bowl history.

Our league had its own championship drama.

Kyle's Footballs Deep finished 12–5, tied with Lynna's team for the best regular-season record, but Kyle had the superior scoring output and ultimately captured the championship. He finished with 1,854.54 points, more than 150 points ahead of his closest rival. Lynna's team finished second, meaning the inaugural champion was immediately back in the title picture.

Kyle's title wasn't without competition. Lynna destroyed Spencer's Corner Blitz by 73.30 points in Week 8, 167.64–94.34. It was simultaneously the league's largest blowout and highest-scoring game of that week. And at the other end of the spectrum, Andrew beat Kevin by just 0.36 points in Week 13.

Kyle won his first chip, Lynna had established herself as a perennial threat, and Spencer suffered the biggest loss in league history to that point.
