2016 Season

After the hiatus, 2016 returned with a bang as amosa (🖕🖕) secured his first championship. It was a year of rookie dominance led by Ezekiel Elliott, who forced every manager to rethink the value of a first-round running back. amosa’s path to the title was a lesson in 'less is more,' as he made only 6 moves all season, effectively winning with the team he drafted. This stood in stark contrast to Joshha, who recorded a mind-boggling 58 moves only to finish 10th. It remains unclear if Joshha was trying to build a team or simply trying to see if he could break the Yahoo server by making a transaction every 48 hours.

Mario and 'ESports' played the role of the perennial bridesmaid, finishing 2nd after a very competitive 8-5 regular season. Alex meanwhile dominated the win column at 9-4 but suffered a heartbreaking playoff exit to finish 4th. The Sillinannies (Owen) continued their pattern of 'winning the stat sheet but losing the trophy,' leading the league in scoring (1651 PF) only to finish 5th. It was becoming clear that in this league, having the most points is often just a fancy way to be disappointed in December.

Notable draft busts included Lynna’s #2 overall pick of Adrian Peterson, who once again failed to live up to the high-round billing, and Alec’s 'Rub-your Wilson' squad finishing 12th after a draft that got a D+ from the experts. 2016 proved that while active management is fun, 58 moves don't necessarily get you a ring. It also established amosa as a dangerous manager who could win with a team name that was essentially a digital offensive gesture.
