2017 Season

2017 was the year Alex inched past everyone else to claim his first championship with 'MakAmericaGronkAgain.' Alex's strategy was one of pure aggression, making 38 moves and riding the redemption season of Todd Gurley. Gurley's playoff performance—including a 4-touchdown masterpiece against Seattle in Week 15—is still considered one of the single greatest 'league winning' performances in our archive. Alex capitalized on this, finally ending his streak of strong regular seasons that went unrewarded. Owen's 'The Sillinannies' had another 10-win season (the best in the league), but the curse remained intact as he once again finished 4th.

The 'Dreaded 11th' went to Spencer, whose 'Turn Down for Watt' hit a new low with a 2-11 record despite making 25 roster moves. It was a year where Spencer tried everything except winning games. amosa tried to defend his middle-finger dynasty with only 4 moves all year, but the 'minimalist' approach failed him this time as he bottomed out in 12th place. This was also the year Alvin Kamara and Kareem Hunt took over the NFL as rookies, and the managers who jumped on them early found themselves with immediate, unexpected RB1s.

The finals were a relatively comfortable win for Alex over ajeszeck, who finished 2nd with a surprisingly consistent 11-move season. 2017 taught the league that if you don't have a plan for a dominant Gurley, you're better off just playing for the consolation bracket. It also solidified Owen’s identity as the 'unlucky genius' of the league, a man whose rosters were beautiful but whose trophies were non-existent.
