2021 Season

The NFL emerged from the COVID season with a new sense of normalcy — and a remarkable new generation of stars.

Cooper Kupp had an historic year, winning the receiving triple crown with 145 catches, 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns. Jonathan Taylor became a fantasy RB monster. Ja'Marr Chase broke rookie receiving records. Deebo Samuel turned into a completely unique offensive weapon, eating up rushing yards unlike any other receiver. And Matthew Stafford left Detroit for Los Angeles, where he immediately led the Rams to a Super Bowl victory.

Our league's 2021 season was dominated statistically by Alex's Can You Diggs It? Alex went 11–3, the league's best record, and scored 2,226.98 points, also the league high. Yet, in one of the league's most persistent themes, Alex fell short of taking home the championship.

Instead, Owen Davies and The Sillinannies won their second consecutive title. Owen finished the regular season just 7–7; his championship came despite finishing fourth in the regular season standings. That makes the 2021 Sillinannies one of the league's most fascinating champions: not the highest scorer, not the best record, but apparently the team that got hot at the right time.

Spencer Potts' Big Nick Energy came up short, finishing second after getting crushed by Owen in the championship game, while Alex's massive regular-season campaign ended without a title. The season also contained one of the most brutal blowouts in league history: Amosa demolished Anna 205.24–90.62, a 114.62-point margin. And perhaps most appropriately, the league's top player was Cooper Kupp, whose 439.50 points mirrored his real-life dominance.

Owen had now done something nobody else had: Win back-to-back championships.
