2022 Season

The 2022 NFL season was one of the most consequential of the decade.

Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes established the next great QB rivalry. Justin Jefferson became the unquestioned fantasy WR king. Justin Fields demonstrated how feast-or-famine QB rushing could be. Geno Smith went from career afterthought to comeback player, and didn't write back. Christian McCaffrey was traded to the Niners, freeing him from the eternal poverty of Carolina and establishing a super team in San Francisco.

And then Damar Hamlin's cardiac arrest on Monday Night Football shocked the entire league. It was a season of spectacular football and profound reminders of how fragile it could be.

The back-to-back BSB champion, Owen, was finally unseated, after crashing out in the semifinals and finishing a respectable 3rd. After several seasons in which Alex repeatedly produced elite regular-season numbers without winning the title, Eks Gone Give it to Ya finished 10–4, scored 2,192 points, and finally completed the job. Alex's closest challenger was Kyle's Better Mahomes and Gardens, also 10–4. Kyle finished second with exactly 2,000 points.

The league was stacked. Owen's Sillinannies went 9–5 and scored 2,111.88. Newcomer Tiffanie went 7–7 while still scoring nearly 1,986 points. And Peter suffered perhaps the cruelest version of fantasy variance yet: Sneak and Destroy went 2–12 despite scoring 1,926.60 points, because opponents put up a league-high 2,144.48 against him as he won 2022's Buzzsaw Award.

Peter was, statistically, one of the better teams in the league, finishing in the top half of the league in points score, but finished with the worst record in the regular season. The season also produced a spectacular Week 16 semi-final finish: Kyle beat Owen by 0.06 points, 173.12–173.06 - the narrowest margin of victory on the season.

In the end, Alex pulled off his first championship win in 5 years, becoming the third dual champion in BSB history.
