Season Narrative
The 2024 season was a clinical study in how to fail upward, and nobody did it better than Spencer. Managing 'Bijan and the Jettas' to a sub-.500 regular season record of 6-8, Spencer somehow navigated the playoffs like a man who knew the script beforehand. It was a year where the Bijan Robinson breakout finally happened (sort of), while the rest of the league watched in horror as the person with the most losses in the top 5 walked away with the crown. It wasn't pretty, it wasn't statically sound, but it was a championship nonetheless.
Lynna’s 'Give ‘em that hauk Tua' provided the most actual competition with a 9-5 record, leading the league in several stats but ultimately falling to Spencer's voodoo in the finals. Owen’s 'The Sillinannies' had a flawless A+ draft grade and was the highest regular season scorer at 2196 PF, yet he once again walked away with a 3rd place trophy—proving that even in 2024, the Sillinannies curse is alive and well. Harley meanwhile rackked up a league-high 35 moves only to finish 7th, a testament to her dedication to roster churn.
Notable draft busts included anyone who invested early in the 'old guard' of RBs, while rookies continued to redefine the ceiling for fantasy dominance. The championship game between Spencer and Lynna was a bizarre affair where defensive scores and kicker points were the difference. 2024 will be remembered as the year Spencer got away with murder, and the rest of us were left wondering if we should just start drafting 6-8 teams ourselves.
